SCHOOL UNIFORM (2007-2008)
UNIFORMS ARE WORN BY STUDENTS ATTENDING ST. AMBROSE SCHOOL. In addition to providing a sense of group identity and self-discipline, they reduce distractions, eliminate competition for attention, and minimize social differences.
IN GENERAL, IT IS EXPECTED THAT STUDENTS MAINTAIN A NEAT, AGE APPROPRIATE APPEARANCE AT SCHOOL OR IN ANY SITUATION WHICH IS AN EDUCATIONAL EXTENSION OF THE SCHOOL DAY. Thus, uncombed hair, flapping shirt tails, faded pants, torn hems, untied shoe laces, low-slung pants, inappropriately short shorts and culottes, heavy make-up and excessive jewelry are not appropriate.
