VIDEO: AUGUST 14TH - Message regarding delayed in-person learning followed by written announcement below
Good Afternoon Parents/Guardians,
On Wednesday evening, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) sent out their guidelines for the reopening of schools for in-person learning. This is the critical piece of information that we have been waiting on all summer. After reading through the guidelines, a conference call with the head of the Madison County Health Department (this morning), and in consultation with the Reopening Team, it has been determined that we need more time to revise our Reopening Plan to include the new guidelines.
This leads to the difficult decision that we need to delay the start of in-person learning until Monday, August 24th. We will use structured Virtual Learning starting Tuesday, August 18th until Friday, August 21st. The goal is to start in-person learning on Monday, August 24th. The teachers will post the week’s assignments and schedules on Google Classroom by Sunday evening. There are a few things you need to know in regards to this week:
St. Ambrose School will have the Supply Drop Off, Uniform Resale, and Materials pickup on Sunday, August 16th. Here is what you need to know:
Please keep in mind that this is a fluid situation and we did not anticipate this change of approach being presented to us in such close proximity to the start of school. Moving forward please remember if you decide that you want your student(s) to opt into Virtual Learning for an extended period, please email Mr. Baird or the office staff. There will be more information next week.
