Greetings, Parents and Families of St. Ambrose Catholic School!
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of St. Ambrose School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition that has produced so many outstanding students. I count myself so blessed to have been part of the dynamic staff the past eight years, and anticipate continued success as I transition to this new role on the team.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for 23 years, in grades from Kindergarten through high school. I have a degree in Elementary Education (K-9), a Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction and a Type 75 Administrative Endorsement. I have taught middle school Science and Social Studies here at St. Ambrose for the past eight years. I am elated to have the opportunity to continue to use my skills as an educational leader at St. Ambrose and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success.
My personal mission statement is: “I, Jean M. Heil, am fully dedicated to providing my students, my colleagues, my community, and my family the very best I have to offer by being an active listener, a thoughtful friend, an informed example, a kind critic, a creative problem-solver, and a servant leader.” It is my vision to lead the St. Ambrose School community wherein teachers, students, parents, staff, parish and community members work together seamlessly to develop and maintain an optimal learning environment of respect, creativity and challenge. It is imperative that the core values of commitment, collaboration, careful speech, Christ-like behavior and caring are reinforced and remain a central focus in order for the vision to be realized.
All of us at St. Ambrose are eager and excited to begin what promises to be one of the best years ever! As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors – teachers, students and parents – are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Throughout the year our school website, periodic calendars, and newsletters, etc. will attempt to provide you with the most current information. However, at times you will have questions. Please do not hesitate to contact me, Jean Connoyer (office manager), or any of our teachers via email or (618) 466-4216.
I feel truly fortunate to be the instructional leader of such an awesome school community! May our Saints March On with Respect, Responsibility and Good Relationships!
Jean M. Heil, MAEd
